Adelaide killer Nicole McGuinness looks set to be granted freedom again

A notorious killer who dismembered her victim tonight looks set to be granted freedom again despite breaching parole. She blames a google search of her crime for sending her spiraling back into drugs.

But her victim's brother says everyone one should look up what she's done and learn why she deserves to stay behind bars. A cold-blooded murderer, Nicole McGuinness, was locked up for almost two decades for her gruesome crime.

She lasted only months on parole before abusing the very substances that helped turn her into a killer all those years ago. Now she wants her freedom again.

Why should she? I haven't had mine reinstated.

She should do the full sentence and then do it again. A heavy drug addict, in 2001, she and the co accused killed 53-year-old trans truck driver joanne lillecrapp, dismembering the body and burying some of the remains in a strawberry patch.

When she was released from jail, McGuinness learned of her own notoriety by conducting a Google search of her own name. The court hearing today that led to her relapse.

In October, she was rushed to Modbury Hospital with a cocktail of substances in her system, including heroin and methamphetamine. Her victim's brother neither surprised nor sympathetic.

They buried his skin in the strawberry patch. That's his skin.

And they put other body parts all over the state. What sort of person does that?

The court heard McInnes is yet to make a genuine commitment to change. But her lawyers say the parole breach was just a false start.

Asking McGuinness be allowed to apply for immediate release. Arguing the seven months she's been back in custody is enough.

She doesn't deserve to get out of prison. She didn't care when she killed my brother.

She killed something within me, and it'll stay dead forever. Why should she get out of prison?

I got the life sentence, not her. McGinnis appeared over video link and cried throughout today's hearing, continually wiping tears away from her eyes.

The court heard that while she was in custody, she had managed to stay clean from drugs for twelve years prior to her release. The justice has now reserved her decision until a later date.
